The only reason why I call it Del Mar Fair is because I'm not used to calling it the San Diego County Fair. But people who refuse to call it SD Fair for the sake of being a San Diego purist or whatever need to shut the fuck up, seriously.
Anyways, woke up today and just chilled till Manny, Bryce, Wes and his lil sis Melanie arrived at my house. Decided to wake up early and work out a little harder than usual, in anticipation of the massive calorie intake that was about to happen at the Fair haha. We all met up my house and got to the Fair at about 1:30. We walked around for a bit because Wes and Bryce were looking for rattlesnake. They served rattlesnake like two years ago but it hasn't been around since then. Manny and I got impatient and we were like "Fuck you guys, we're going to get deep-fried White Castle." Bryce joined us and we went to Chicken Charlie's, which is officially my favorite food booth at the Fair.
We walked around for a bit, met up with Wes and Melanie after they ate. Manny was hell bent on checking out the "beer gardens" so we decided to go. We ended up at a place where we listened to a live band and Manny drank a beer in a garden haha. But the actual garden of beer that Manny was trying to hit up was across the way and we went to the wrong one haha. We walked around for a bit looking at vendors and then we started looking at the art exhibit, which had yearbooks and drawings, paintings and photographs from students from schools across San Diego. We kept comparing Westview and Mt. Carmel, and Westview had too many 1st place and Mt. Carmel had 2nd or 3rd place ribbons. We got bored of Westview owning MC, so we went and got more food. Manny, Bryce and I went back to Chicken Charlie's and got more food. They have too much good stuff. This time around though, we got a Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich and it was awesome as well.
After that heart attack in a tray, we wanted to try chocolate covered bacon before we went home. When we got it, it wasn't what we were expecting. It's bacon covered in chocolate, but it's frozen. We ate it and it just tasted like toffee. I was looking forward to having a taste bud adventure but I was utterly disappointed. As we were walking to the exit, I look to my left and see a guy I recognized. It was Quentin Jammer of the San Diego Chargers! He walked by and I was like "Oh shit, that's Quentin Jammer!" He stopped and Bryce and I followed him and asked for a picture. He shook his head and I didn't hear what he said, but I assumed it was a no and I said "Ok that's cool" and started to walk away. He was like "Wait, I said I don't mind." So we took a picture with Quentin Jammer! Made my day.
On the way home, we stopped by Westview, Bryce's, Manny's and my old high school. Walked around for a bit and reminisced. The school continues to change for the better. WV > MC. Looking forward to the potluck tomorrow at Coronado Beach that MY LIL SIS SANDI DODD IS IN CHARGE OF. Haha, so proud of her. Boss fams.
